I am trying to program a RFLCHGM to to a 08 Equinox.
First, when I jump the IGN, the dash lights do not activate. So I jump both the IGN and the ACC. I still only get a "Service Theft Deterrent System" message when I go to program the key.
Anyone have any tricks here? Do I have a bad RFLCHGM or am I doing something wrong.
I have followed the procedure in the RFLCHGM manual and form the Vehicle Owners manual.

I've always used a regular key-in-a-box module with an aftermarket key, just because it's less expensive, so I'm not familiar with that module.

But, will the car remote start and run successfully if you leave an existing key in the ignition?

Also, instead of using a jumper wire to turn on the ignition, you can just activate your remote starter.

At whatever moment the module's programming instructions tell you to remove your jumper wire, simply press the brake, disabling the remote starter.

Usually to program bypasses like that I turn the key on until the symbol disappears they I turn the key off then remote start works best for me.

I will try setting the rs to 30 second wait to start and try that.
Thanks for the help.

Just take the key apart and remove the transponder chip. Then turn the cylinder. Much easier.

key on a 2008 doesnt come apart! only on the 2010 does it come apart and you have to be very careful not to break it or lose parts, i like chris just buy a blank circle plus key and program that and place it in a coffin box, works flawlessly and is much easier, this vehicle in general is very easy to do with this method
