Hey guys / gals,

I need to install a DEI Python 1000 in a BMW convertible.  The thing needs a double lock pulse sent when the alarm is armed.  This causes the car to lock down the trunk and gas cap.  Otherwise, you can just reach in and pull the handle in the door to unlock everything.  How do I rig an alarm to send two pulses??

I believe you can buy pulse generators that will turn one pulse into two.  I'd try PAC at www.go2pac.net, or call someone on the phone at DEI.  Once you get a correct part number, most retailers should be able to special-order the DEI or PAC part you need.

Did you get it figured out?  From what I have read, the BMW's come with a double lock system which locks the gas cap and trunk.  The way to operate this from what I understand is to send a signal to both the lock and unlock wires at the same time.  You will need diodes to do this correctly.  Search the web for more info on this.
