Ive recently installed an alarm system with 2-way remote and it has the option to control two optional circuits remotely aswell as the ability to control upto four cars with the same remote but to use them requires pressing four buttons simoultaneously which is next to impossible the way they are positioned on this remote.

is there a such thing as universal remotes that I could use instead of the original?

also

Im curious as to what non standard devices some of you have used your remotes for.

Im thinking James Bond type stuff..

what are some cool remotely controlled gadgets?

whats the unit you have installed? if u plan on programming it for another car, it should be the same process for the first unit. as far as pressing 4 buttons at one time, im sure its a sequence that is performed, in order to direct it to that particular vehicle/control box. for example, using one remote that is programmed for 2 cars.

car 1 - press lock on the remote and it locks
car 2 press aux + lock, meaning press aux first, THEN press lock, and it locks the second car.

if in ur manual it shows a series of button 1 + button 2 + button 3 + button 4, it does not mean that all 4 are pressed simultaniously. It just means you have to press them one after another within a 1second or 0.5 second increments. Hope this helps.

its an Autopage RF425LCD

it came with two seperate remotes, an LCD two-way and a standard one-way.

who wants to carry two or more remotes arround.. problem is the button for controlling the secondary vehicles is a single button on the one-way unit (the way it should be) but on the two-way LCD unit you must press four buttons simoultaneously.

autopage says they dont offer any optional remotes for the RF425LCD.

I just dont want to carry arround both remotes and the LCD one is very difficult to switch cars with.
