I have recently installed a factory ford remote start system with keyless entry on a 2000 Expedition. The problem I am having is the system will not go into "learn mode" to program PATS system. Horn sounds four times after pushing remote start button on remote with key out of ignition. Horn sounds two times if key is in ignition. This tells me there is obviously an issue with the PATS system due to the seperate codes given by the system. My real question, then, would be if anyone knows how to get this truck to go into the "learning mode" to program the PATS? Tach wire is secure and all other wires are connected properly including the brake and hood switch wires. Thank you for taking the time to read this post.

Hi, thanks for the response. I'm using the four button remote system and the 1L3Z-19G365-AB model PATS system

if i remember right 4 chirps means you havent learned the tach   and the 2 chirps should mean you have the key sense not programmed to the correct setting as far as the pats all you have to do is take your first key and turn it to the run position till the theft ligt goes out the with in 5 seconds shut that one off and do the same thing with the next key then after the second key is takin out hit the remote start button with in 5 seconds

Thanks for the response, but I resolved the issue. On the 2000, the lock cylinder is different and allows continuity to flow through the lock cylinder whether the key is in or out of the ignition. The key sense wire from the pats bypass module needs a ground to reconize "key-in" so I grounded that key sense wire and that allowed me to enter the programming mode. Once that was completed I removed the wire since it is no longer necessary as the gen module takes care of the key-in sense. The unit is working properly now and the trucks runs and starts great.
