Hi,

I am getting ready to install a Python 4203P in a 2003 Explorer and while reading up on all the info I've found here, I came across the following:

Notes: The GEM in this vehicle shuts down after the doors have been locked for a certain time period, to wake up the system refer to directfax document #1094.

I am installing the 4203P with a Xpresskit PKFM Transponder. Could someone please tell me what 1094 says regarding this or point me to a download? Links to the PDF do not work without a login and I do not have access to DirectTechs because I am not a professional. I just enjoy doing stuff like this.

Thanks!

Ok, I'm going through all of the wiring diagrams and the only thing I haven't been able to locate is where to hook the Neutral Safety Shutdown. Does the Explorer have a factory lock out? If so, do I just attach the neutral safety shutdown to ground?

Thanks again.

Ok. After a long weekend, I have everything hooked up and it is working...sort of. Sometimes when I activate the remote, everything works fine. The car starts no problem and I can turn it off using the remote. It will do this several times without issue but then, I'll activate the remote and the remote flashes red a couple of times, the parking lights on the car flash off and on 5 times but the starter never engages. After that, I have to start the car with the key. This seems to "reset" something and it will work again for a few times.

Any ideas on what could be going on?

Thanks!

Steve

As much as it pains me, I have to fess up just in case another idiot runs into the same problem. Holding in the remote button for more than 1.5 seconds activates the car finder which flashes the lights 5 times. If I had the horn hooked up, it would have probably clued me in sooner. ....damn I'm a moron.
