Hello, a friend of mine ahs locked his keys in his 2005 chev truck without any spares, we've tried the hitting the door lock button with no success, short of calling a tow truck for slim jim the door is there a way to provide power to the door unlock circuit through the fuse panel under the hood?

Jeff, I am sure you were kidding when you said this.

OP, the buttons on the door go dead after x amount of time if the locks are locked via the remote or the switch. This is a safety feature which keep thieves from sticking in a coat hanger and pushing the button to gain entry. on fords you used to be able to program this out but I do not think you can on a chevy.

I used to be a tow truck driver, and have some experience in opening locked cars.

I think it's mostly Toyotas that work this way, but also GM cars that have factory alarms.

If I remember right, the 2000-2005 Impala LS (only the LS, because it has a factory alarm) also does this.
