Hello everyone,

I tried to install a remote starter (Prestige) to my Mercury Villager 1995. I have a problem with finding where to connect  wire Tach and door lock and unlock. Please help me.

do you own a DMM or can you borrow one from a friend? it is a must to properly identify the correct wires.

I am sorry, but what is a DMM?

you use it to test the wires while operating the switch so that you know you have the correct wires before you just go and hook into them.

so do I need to pull the wires from remote starter to the door switch?

no. look for a GREEN / WHITE and GREEN/ orange wire in the drivers kick panel and then use your DMM to test them to be sure they are the correct wires. if not, keep looking for those colors and keep testing each time until you find them. dont attempt hooking up the door lock outputs from the R/S to any wires you find until you are positive through testing, that you found the correct wires. they are negative trigger.

Thanks, I tried to find them there but there are hundreds of wires and i dont know exactly were to find the wires that lock and unlock. Maybe you can tell me exactly were they are. or give me a link to an image. Wire to tach, do i need to attatch it to to the coil on the engine or can i find another wire under the kick panel

you may have better luck finding the wires in the kick panel for the locks if you can find the harness from the boor boot coming in, maybe you can even find them in the door boot itself. at any rate you dont need to remove the door panel or anything like that. i would use an injector wire for the tach signal if you are able to get one. all the injectors will have 2 colors with one color being common on them all, use any wire on any injector that is NOT the common color.
