Hey I just installed the Viper 3002. I have pretty good Electrical background and am currently working on getting MECP Basic Certified. But the alarm install went very well. EXCEPT for whenever i put power to the Alarm Brain the siren constantly is on on. When the vehicle is Armed, the siren quiets down a bit. The alarms trigger and everything, its jsut that they are always on.
I double checked the siren wiring and it is fine.
Red wire from Siren goes to Brown (+) Siren output.
Black Wire from Siren goes to Common Ground (-) I have it to the battery.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Does it just need an intial programming or something?
Btw The truck is a 99 S10 ext. No power options.
thanks
brandon

OK what are you getting for voltage at the brown wire?

im not sure. Ill check it right away in the morning. Im also going to change the grounds for the Siren and Alarm to the same circuit. Im going to run the Siren ground into the Cab so i can attach the fuses right to the firewall on the inside of the cab.
Doesn't sound like bad brain does it?

okay i tested the Brown Wire when the Brain is plugged in. It reads a constant 1.44v
So The brain is providing it with some what of voltage.

The alarm brain is not grounded properly. Or the brain is defective. I am betting on a bad ground.

Just wonderin but how can a bad ground do just that. Cause everything else works. Ill try cause it is only to a bolt in the body. Hopefully its that man. Thanks

When you say a bolt in the body...Are you referring to the siren's ground or the alarms ground...?

I was referring to the alarm ground. I'm gonna run the grounds to a central location and are what's up

Ok like I said the ground took care of everything. So i put my dash back together finally and have been using the system perfectly. but now when i hit the lock button i get no feedback on the remote (no led's or beeps). The alarm still arms, just no feedback on remote. And when i hit unlock i get the normal feedback.
The lock button used to work, idk what happened. Ive tried erasing the remote and reprogramming it and nothing helps...
Any suggestions?
