Hey guys,

We have a 09 H3 in the shop we are using a AL CA idatalink module. the trouble we are having is when it is cold the passlock will lock up when it is in the shop and warm it starts fine. This vehicle has the passlock r-code system and no chip key not pk3 or circle + just the r-code. Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Do yourself and your customer a huge favor and take out the module and install the two relay/resistor override. I love datalink's products but I have never had any module work properly with this style ignition switch.

is it the same software as a vue? gm4? i know there was a software issue with version 3.4, so i use 3.1, also if its locking up the passlock after trying to start try pulsing the door pin with you factory alarm disarm wire from the remote start..

You would have to do a little rewire but there is an update for whatever software is on your al-ca that should eliminate your problem for good.

Do you have the RAP shutdown wire from the module hooked up to the drivers door trigger. This will wake up the databus system before remote start, and will also shut the radio off after a remote start time out.

thanks for all the posts everyone..  we couldn't get it to do anything at all, but then did the relay and a few different things and it started up...   the problem that we are having, and the reason for the post, is that it starts 300 times in a row and works great,,,,until it sit outside in 0 degree weather,  then something changes in the vehicle.. the voltage must drop just enough in the vehicle to throw the resistor and/ or tolerance off by just enough to wiz off the picky car and make it lock up.    wait, start w' key,  pull in shop or drive for a bit-  then it works just fine again until it gets super cold..  we have it in right now doin our own resistor and 2 relays to hopefully get the value for R code dead on so we dont fall outside the range when it gets cold.    will see what happens in the morning after it sits all night and let everyone know. thanks again
