Since ive actually never tried them a mile away...Guess i have to take the manufaturer's word...(although power lines and brick/concrete walls play into the equation...There are some units which you can use your cell phone to start vehicle...One for example is the Auto-page with the C3 technology...If range is a deal breaker ...maybe look into a unit with something similar...Code...Auto-Page...Ultra Start are all pretty solid units...Of course D.E.I. etc...

Thank you for the reply. I really did not like the ultra start because of the remote. I see myself breaking that flipper very fast. What do you think of this one. Has good range and two lcd remotes. https://cgi./FM-2-WAY-CAR-ALARM-REMOTE-START-STARTER-KEYLESS-ENTRY_W0QQitemZ310151396546QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item483676bcc2

The link does not work...Whats the model # and brand...? As long as its a popular brand...You will probably be satisfied...! Also in the broken url...I see it is an Alarm too...Is that what your looking for...A combo unit...?(alarm and r/s)

if your in the market for a 2way and the one your looking at has two 2way remotes, its probably a cheap china made one. I suggest you spend the extra buck. check out compustar, dei, autopage, codealarm. those are reliable. i use both compustar and dei
