2002 explorer with a xk03 pats bypass. viper 571xv. check every wire a million times. nothing happens when I hit the remote start. key sense bell sounds for 2 seconds when i hit the unlock. lock works. truck starts with key. bypass sits there and blinks. When I lock the car and I hit the remote start button it gives me an out of range sound. when i unlock it and hit the remote start button absolutely nothing happens and there is no out of range noise from the remote.

I don't think I found the tachometer wire yet, and I don't even know where the PCM is actually I thought it was in the passenger side with a bolt in the middle facing down but I'm not sure. I completely disoconnected the hood pin, in case it wasn't getting a good ground. The brake wire is properly connected and only live when brake is pressed (shows 12 when pressed)

I am using a blue wire from the brain that is a -200ma to the brown wire on the bypass for status. I don't know if I am supposed to do anything special with the xk04 bypass other then go through the learning routine with both keys. No matter what I do it just blinks slowly,

I'm tired and cranky and im going to give it more of a short tomorrow. night night.

Peace

the pcm is located in the engine compartment on the right hand side

just use a fuel injector for tach   any uncommon wire will work

Each fuel injector has 2 wires. There will be one wire color that is on every injector.  The other wire on them will be a different color.  When Chevy said uncommon wire, he meant to say uncommon colored wire.  So just incase you did not understand, or your Ford guy thing prevents you from listening to someone calling himself Chevy, maybe you will listen to me.

if you have an old xk04 the instructions are wrong... the orange wire from the xko4 goes to ignition. old instructions leave this out... plus if your bypass isnt working the truck wont crank..

Thanks Post I found that tach and the viper learned the tack ok, but still nothing when I push the remote start twice. nothing, no beeps or anything.

I have the hoodpin wire hanging in mid air is that ok? The thing DISCONNECTS ground when it's pushed right? I just wanted to eliminate it as a trouble spot.

The orange wire xisgoing to the ACCESSORY not the  ignition. The diagram says the igniyion is the red with green stripe and the directions say the pink goes to the ignition, ur saying it;s wrong?

never mind that 's the sattelite, the orange wire for the xk04 IS going to the ignition.

What about the hood pin question in myl ast post?

What about the ground for the xko4, I used the  ground on the pats connector, it shows ground at all times so that's ok right? Also, I used the blue wire from the sattelite (small 4 wire plug)  to the brown on the xk04 as status, is that ok? Damn this truck is wizing me off!

i attached the BLACK/ white neutral safety wire to the "WHITE/ red" wire on the ignition harness.

Maybe I attached the wires to the wrong spot? Facing the steering wheel, the harness I am attaching to is under the kick panel, directly on the other side of the key and the harness unlugs from a black plug.

I'm assuming the "starter" side of the red wire isn't the side that goes into that plug...

Another question, do I have to turn off the factory alarm? I didn't connect the "factory disarm" wire.
