I am in the middle of installing a scytek 8000 remote start on a 2005 saturn ion redline i have an ignition input wire on the remote start that says that it need to go to a 12v ignition. It says that the igntion should show 12v while on and while cranking "THE VOLTAGE MUST NOT DROP" but the voltage does drop when i am cranking the starter. it reads 13.9v when on and drops to about 8v when i am cranking. can i still connect the input to this wire. i dont have another ignition wire. what should i do.

It's OK, they mean one that drops out completely when cranking although I believe it should stay around 12volts. Is your battery OK?

Don't think I explained myself too well before. A normal ignition switch (forget key-sense, CAN etc.) Has 1 or more constant inputs, 1 or more acc for radio, windows wipers. 1 or more ignitions and of course 1 starter. During the start sequence, i.e. during cranking the only circuits used are the constants(s), ignition 1* and the starter. ACC ignition 2 all drop out via internal spring contacts in the switch to reduce battery load during starting. Yes I can think of a car post 05 Peugeot which shares start through BOTH ignition wires and some German cars which retain the ACC but the above is what happens and Scytek are asking you to ascertain which is ignition 1.

also the bypass module and the alarm both have these "ignition input" wires should i diode isolate them or can i connect them together and then connect to the ignition.
