I've got a 2005 F-250 diesel with a Viper 5900 RS. I've made the "high idle mod" on my truck to allow me to use my RS system. For this mod to work, I have to have the Parking brake set and apply 12V to the "BCP" wire. Currently, I have a switch wired to switch the 12V to the BCP wire and I have to remember to set my Parking brake and turn on the switch if I think I might want to use my RS the next time I use the truck. My RS has several negative outputs, so I'd like to use one of them to "trick" my truck into thinking the above conditions are met. I think the attached diagram will work to make the truck "think" the Parking brake is set and will allow me to bypass the switch when RS is used, but still allow manual override if I need it. Please take a look and see if I need to change anything.

What is the "BCP" wire and what is the "high idle" mod?

Just wire up a relay triggered by the pink -ignition wire and made for positive output.

BCP - Battery Circuit Protection High Idle Mod - Raises the idle RPMs to prevent "wet stacking" in diesels. If a diesel (6.0L Powerstroke especially) are allowed to idle for extended periods at low RPMs oil begins to bypass the cylinder rings due to lower compression and enters the combustion chamber, this gunks up the cylinders as well as the EGR system and turbo with the extra soot created. Over time, this can lead to a lot of problems. Sporadic low RPM idling is not harmful, but when it's cold I use my RS 2 or 3 times a day, and when you figure in idle time in traffic, you get a pretty good dose. Elevated idle of ~1200 RPM gives enough compression to not allow blow by. Two ways to do this on 6.0L Powerstrokes, supply 12V to the ECM's "BCP" input or supply 12V to the SIEC (Stationary Idle Engine Control) input. Can't just supply the 12V to one of the wires, Parking brake must be set as well and the Service brake (the one used to stop) can't be pushed. I know it would be easy to just set the Parking brake and leave the switch on, but sometimes I forget...

Can you use the status output of the remote start to supply the 12vdc to the BCP wire AND simulate the parking brake being on? That would be best case scenario. ------------- Kevin Pierson

According to wiring info I've found, the Parking brake wire is a negative signal...that's why I've got it tied to the low side of the relay coil in the diagram.

Use one of the negative outs to the parking brake. Then use the other to trigger a relay to the bcp. Done.

Couple of corrections....BCP is Battery Charge Protection, and it's actually SEIC, Stationary Engine Idle Control. I could use 2 outputs, but I'd rather just use one and diode protect incase or overlapping automatic and manual use of high idle.
