Hi Im a new member here, but i have been a troll for quite some time here. I have the Compustar 2way 2w900fm installed in my 1992 BMW 325i and I am looking to change to a different one because it is defective. The clock is always wrong, no matter how many times I change the time. The range is half of what it is supposed to be, my brother has a 91 mr2 and his compustar has twice as much range as mine.

Im a college student, so I need the most range possible with an alarm since my dorm is far from my parking spot, which is why I want something with cellphone compatibility. I dont have an iPhone and dont have AT&T.

So does Viper/DEI have some type of cellphone adapter that i can use with my remote so it transmit signals through my data plan, i have 3G on my phone, and it is a windows mobile phone.

I know AutoPage has one, but Im not exactly how that works and how much it costs?

Any information or guidance will really be appreciated and if anyone has experience please post your opinions

Thanks

Joshua

i deal with the autopage c3, they are pretty pricy, the last time i checked it went for $299, and it requires subscription.  i think this sucks that u have to substcribe to stuff, i think they shouyld make a bandwith for alarms so that way they can use this and they dont need a carrier, but we live in a world of penny pinching!

im thinking of using the viper 5902 and then add on the smartstart and use my iTouch as another transmitter. My college has wi-fi cammpus wide and so does my house and job, so i think that should be good enough? anyone have any opinions on this?
