I am putting a viper 5101 in a 2007 Pt Cruiser.
The bypass kit I have requires an input for the the ground second ignition.
I have no problem making it happen with a relay but was wondering if any of you knew of an output on the 5101 that is specifically ground on ignition. The bypass kit specifically says "It MUST come on at the exact same time as the primary ignition or it will throw a code."
Sounds to me like a relay is a sure thing BUT...why buy a relay and wire it up if there is already a programmable output I can use from the Viper.
Also, looking at the wiring diagram on this site for the Cruiser it says please refer to the supplied diagram for specific wiring instructions....It also just mentions the second starter through resistance as well as ignition but does not mention the wire colors on the diagram. Anyone have any input on those?
use the small secondary cable with the blue status wire in it... the pink wire is a neg ign output.....
what bypass module are you using? it should take care of the MUX for you....

Thanks for the quick help.
I just read the viper manual and it says that wire requires a diode isolate.
Do you know if the 532 bypasskit takes care of that? I am assuming it will but want to get the scoop before I jump over to radio shack and buy a diode for no reason.
Thanks again
i always isolate with a diode when i use those wires just to eliminate something coming back to bite me in the a**........ what's a 10 pack of diodes going to run you? $2??
