Avital Avistart 5103, Omega IM06 module

I have purchased these components to install in my 2007 silverado classic crew cab. I have searched the net for a few days digging up all the information I can find on installation. I am confused on exactly which wires I actually need to hook up. I am planning on using the D2D install but according to the wiring diagrams that only cuts out 3 wires? It sure looks like a lot more wiring than I thought. I don't have a problem wiring this all up but it seems some of it may not be necessary. If someone with experience on this vehicle can tell me which wires I should use etc. that would be a help. I have the install instructions for the bypass module, avital system, and the vehicle wiring guide as well.

I may have just found a problem. I have firmware PKG7 instead of PLXR in my IM06. Does this mean I have to return it and buy a different one?

i would use an XK01 on that vehicle... one wire hookup via D2D will give you everything

the IM06 will only bypass PL II (and yes, it will need to be flashed for PLXR) ... XK01 wiill do disarm, locks, heated seats, etc. etc.....

OK, I will get an XK01, can you be more specific on the "1 wire" thing? I thought I need some of the remote Relay wires tapped in somewhere in the ignition harness as well for power?

I got the XK01 and I installed everything. The alarm and locks work fine. The remote start does absolutely nothing, no light blinks, no noises, nothing. I hooked up all the remote relay wires to the appropriate ignition wires under the dash. The truck runs and starts fine with a key so I assume I haven't screwed anything up majorly.   Did I miss some kind of programming step on the R/S unit? The xk01 seems programmed fine since the locks function I would assume.

you ground the small BLACK/ white neutral safety wire on the avital? and you're sure the small gray hoodpin wire isn't grounding out while the hood is shut?

I figured it out, you were right another-kelly I did not have the NSS wire grounded. The hood pin switch is open as I did not hook it up. Everything works great. This site was a major help.
