I have installed these on 3 different vehicles, and every single one drains the battery over night if the keys are left all the way pushed in the ignition (not turned to ACC or IGN)
These are the vehicles:
2001 Bonneville
2004 Envoy
2005 Chevy Avalanche

1700g is a bypass for GM vehicles.
I dont know why they are leaving their keys in, but thats none of my business. There is a problem either way and it needs to be fixed.

Did you tie the ground for the bypass into the Keysense wire? You may need to diode isolate so that the key sense wire will not power the bypass.

No, I wired it to the keysense wire in the vehicle. Is the keysense needed?
If I have to diode isolate, how would I wire it in and do you think that'll solve it?

I do not think the keysense wire is needed on a GM vehicle. I may be wrong. Some of our hands on guys will know if it is needed. I know that removing it from that wire will resolve your current draw problem. Try disconnecting the keysense wire and see if it will still start. If it still starts, I would have to guess that it is not needed.

I have been looking at that diagram, and it isn't making sense why I would wire it like that.
Wouldn't I want to diode isolate the keysense wire from the 1700g?
Please explain your theory for the diagram above :)

It is isolating the 1700 from the keysense wire. The 1700 should get it's power from the GWR wire from the remote start. When the key is in the ignition switch, the keysense wire goes to ground. This was powering the 1700. Now the ground from the keysense wire will no longer get to the 1700, but ground will get from the GWR wire to the keysense wire. (If keysense is needed on this car, I do not think it is)
