Installing Bulldog RS1200 remote start using DEI PKUCG2X bypass, truck will not crank, everything powers up, just no crank. I have not installed the resistor in the starter wire hooked to pink/black resistor wire, will this prevent starting? Also the remote start does not have a second accessory wire to hook to pink/black resistor wire, do I use the main accessory wire out of RS that is hooked to the acc wire at ignition harness or can I use the 2nd ignition wire out of the RS instead? (also do I have to put the resistor in this wire?). Lots of questions, but 1/2 of the info I find says don't need the resistors, 1/2 says they are needed. I don't care if the ECM records the error code, I just want the starter to work. Thanks!

Well I added resistors to ignition wire hooked to pink/blk resistor wire, truck now remote starts, runs a few seconds then dies, guess tomorrow I'll add resistors to the 2nd acc wire, some documentation says this will solve the problem, but once again, some say it's something else. When I get this done post I'll post a list of connections that worked for me.

Does your starter have some sort of way to determine why it shut down?  I have the python 14000XPL, and through a series of steps it will tell you why the R/S shut off last time, Whether the brake was pressed, shutoff by remote, Etc.  Maybe that will also lead you in the right direction, if the resistor does not help.

I'll have to check, Bulldog has poor customer support and even worse install instructions. I've been trying to set the RS tach mode to on, but can't get it to do so, when I go through the sequence I just get a series of 5 flashes of the park lights, not the series of flashes listed in the manual.
