My girls car, a Toyota Corolla 2009, has a Viper 5301 with a basic Best Buy install (no trunk, no rear defrost).
Sadly, the car has been totaled. Later on today, or maybe tomorrow, I need to go and get the Viper back so we can get it installed in the new car.
I'm a fairly clever guy and am good with electronics but have never dealt with this type of device. I figure I'll start at the antenna on the windshield and follow the wire. I know I need the antenna and the viper itself. I assume there is a wiring harness and some mounting hardware.
If anyone can offer any guidance that might help me in this I would appreciate it. Thanks.

You are on the right track. Follow the antenna to the brain, then follow each wire of the harness and cut it where the connections are made to the car. Do not forget the valet switch, LED and siren. If the wire of the alarm goes directly to a relay, get the relay too.

Thanks. That was kind of my plan. The car is totaled so I don't really need worry about leaving it in a functional state. I forgot to mention, it's just a remote entry/ignition system. There is no alarm.
