Good evening to all. I'll be installing a CT-3271 prostart, on a 99 ZX2 Manual tranny. I noticed that there are 2 fused power wires on this unit which need to be powered. In the harness for the ignition switch there is a large green wire that is 12v at all times. Do I connect both power wires to this one wire?

Is there anything else I should be aware of here?

Ford Schematic: https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/alarmdetail/846.html

There was no listing for a 99 ZX2, but there was for a 98. I'm going by the 99 Excort diagram, should I go by the 98ZX2 diagram?

Thanks to all

Thanks for the info. All seemed to go well until I went to learn the module to the tach. Now, when I ran my tach wire, I did so the same way as I did my truck, right behind the instrument cluster at the guage. This unit is not recognizing the tach, and until I figure that out, I am unable to go any further.

Suggestions?

Thanks

TachometerYELLOW/BLUE(-)

OR RED / LT.BLU OR BLU/LT.GRN(COIL 2 CYL)

Are there any one of the 3 colors listed above on either of the ignition coils?

This is the info I have found :

https://www.teamzx2.com/showthread.php/9996-Tach-signal?p=169188

That site says he tach learns his zx's on the wire on the right hand side of the coil wires.

https://www.teamzx2.com/showthread.php/252-Remote-Start-and-Keyless-Entry

This site has a pic of where to connect for the tach. And it isn't the far right, it's the left.

Thanks for the replies thus far. I got everything geared up as per the instructions. I don't have the clutch bypassed as of yet.  However I figured that the starter would start the car if i had the clutch pushed in-but no. Park lights flashed once, and that was it. I double checked all my wiring, and went through the troubleshooting section of the manual. I'm fairly certain that it isn't in valet mode, but I'll double check that again tomorrow. What could I be missing here? Everything else went well, as far as programming the remote to the unit, tach learn, and ready mode is concerned.

Thanks in advance

if parking lights flashed once, do you hear multiple clicks from the unit (brain)? if you hear multiple clicks, that means its trying to start(notice cluster lights). if its just one click, pause then another click  and you see the parking lights only, its in valet mode.

the parking lights car also be used as diagnostics. check pg 24 of your installation manual.

The lights will flash once, as in it's telling me it's recieving the signal ok- but that's all it's doing. That's why originally I thought it was in valet mode. After it clicks once, no dash lights flash up or anything. In my truck, after the initail click, the dash lights flash up and away it goes. I double checked all the wiring and it all seems ok. Unless I'm missing something that has to be hooked up for the locks n' such, because I didn't wire any of that up.

Thanks

press button 1 then wait and press 1 and 2 together. see if any diagnostics show up via parking lights. you might have a defecttive unit. i have seen tons of these go bad from faulty antennas, brains etc.

I got it working all good now. Turns out, that each time you want to remote start it, you have to put it in ready mode. It doesn't stay in ready mode all the time.

Thanks to all!!
