I bought this saturn 1996 SL2 used last summer. Never used the alarm. Last night when I went to open the car door, the alarm went off. The key fob wouldn't deactivate the alarm. Put a new battery in the key fob and that didn't work. You cannot start the car without turning off the alarm. Played with the toggle switch. Did not do anything. I am looking for an owners manual for the pursuit protector or a way to permently disable the alarm. Thank you

pull open your knee kick or look under the dash. if you see the unit, unplug it OR remove the fuses. that should disable the alarm. you have a starter kill installed, and without disarming the alarm, the relay will break the start wire so you wont be able to start it until then.

To turn the alarm off and put it in valet mode, it should be the following:
1. Turn ignition to Run position.
2. Turn valet switch to "on" position.
If you are unsure which way is "on" for the valet switch, try this twice, each time moving the valet switch in a different direction.
If that doesn't work, either the valet switch is broken, the alarm's ignition input has come disconnected, or the alarm is entirely defective.
In that case, unplug it as tedmond said, or for even more reliability, you might consider completely removing it.
