I got my alarm/remote start combo installed about 2 years ago. Recently the car got broken into so I've decided to take a look at the alarm wiring.
The car is a 1998 Dodge Neon (coupe). Anyway I noticed the installer didn't hook up the second ignition. Instead he twisted second ignition wire and accessory wire from the brain to the accessory wire to my heater/ac.
Is this correct? Everything works fine for 2 years now, but I'm wondering if I should change it?
Thanks
nope....if it worked fine then u are all set.....
I just looked at the tech sheet.....there is no 2nd ignition in the car......they prolly ran the wire but didnt use it.....just make sure things were hooked up to the red(or pink/blck), BLACK/ orange, dk blue, and yellow wires

The second IGN is also referred to by some wiring companies as the HEATER/AC control. I have some conflicting information that says that there's no second IGN while others say there is. The best thing to do is to test the wires and see if they are in fact a 2nd IGN or not.
- BLACK/ ORANGE ---------- ACC
- DARK BLUE ----------------- IGN # 1

Most likely tho the HEATER/AC control is normally 2nd accessory tho Jeff.......but can be powered like a 2nd ignition.....
either way u should be ok w/o hookin it up
