so I have a 2008 focus that I'm installing an avital RS on.  problem is the vehicle already has a dealer installed Karr security system in it and I have never seen it before or know anything about it.  I need to find a way to disarm the karr system when the remote start is activated to keep from setting it off.  I have no idea what model it is, but all it has is a shock sensor and a small pod mounted on the dash with two buttons on it and an led.  that pod has a 20 pin harness coming out of it.  any ideas on disarming this system?  or possibly wiring schematics for it.

if oyu want to maintain the alarm feature, use the aux out from the alarm and connect that to the remoste start trigger or external trigger input. that way you can use the karr alarm to start the car. but if i was you, i would remove that junk karr alarm.

hey kipp, does the karr alrm come with remotes? if not its just a shock sensor to set off the factory alarm, just hook up your remote start,if  it is setting off the alarm when u auto start then if your auto start has a wire to interupt the power to the karr sensor wire it up accordingly, i worked with the karr alarm and this is a multi million a year company that does work for dealerships.  if u want to take it out just remove the the unit and it will not effect nothing on your car.

Karr is rebadged Audiovox. Find an Audiovox install guide if you can.

Ignition input for Karr alarm should be yellow. Disconnect it from the car, and connect it directly to the yellow ignition output on your Avital. (It is a basic Avital with the relays built in, correct?)

You could use your ground-when-running output from the Avital, to trigger two relays, to interrupt the shock sensor's green and blue wires during remote start...but is your customer willing to pay for the parts and labor? Many of us just end up turning the shock sensor way down.
