Hi folks,

I just installed a 727T in my convertible. The alarm works great. I am having issues with the 508D sensor. It works fine with the warn away signal but I cant get it to go full alarm when you disturb the inner field. If I reach into the car the red light will illuminate but I only get the warn away chirps. I unplugged the sensor harness and ran a ground to the blue wire to simulate the full alarm and still only the warning chirp. This leads me to believe its the alarm itself because a 1 ms signal would give a full alarm. My only other thought was the nuisance prevention circuit. It bypasses a zone if you get an alarm 3 times in one hour. I would think that it resets once you disarm and rearm the alarm but not sure. Any ideas?

NPC resets with ignition! Are you using a dedicated port for the sensor or are you using it along with other sensors?

I am using a tilt sensor as well but I have used diodes to isolate the sensors from each other. I was not aware that NPC resets with ignition however. That may explain the problem then. I am simply disarming the alarm and re arming.

On your wire harness coming from the 508d, find a place where it crosses path with the tilt sensor wires. Very carefully pull apart the green and blue wires on the 508d harness and cut them both. Adjoin the blue wire from the 508d side to the green wire leading the sensor port of the brain. Take the blue wire from the tilt sensor and connect it to the loose blue wire leading to the sensor port on the brain. (on the 508d harness alarm side) This eliminates the need for the diodes. Also make sure the tilt sensor is orange to orange for grounding. The green wire can be multiplexed and give warn away or full siren. The tilt will of course will do instant trigger on the blue wire. If you wish to try this, great. Let me know. Solder or use heat shrink connectors for connections. Also make sure you adjusted both the inner and outer zone dials on the 508d. I would keep the inner zone to a minimal to prevent false alarms. I have mine wired to my viper 690xv and have never had a problem. The only thing I notice is it is more sensitive in colder weather versus warm temps. Adjust if needed but the dials are very sensitive. Hope this helps and you enjoyed my essay. posted_image
