A lot of you here are using the XK01 bypass on your alarm/remote start installs. I have the GM-DLBP in my 2005 Chevy TrailBlazer and have not had any problems with it since it was installed in 05, when it was the best and most reliable bypass available. Now that the XK01 has been around for a while, and has some features that I would like, I am thinking about switching to it. I have been told that the GMDL-BP and the XK01 both use the exact same 10 pin harness (I am not using the D2D serial link RS232 cable) so it would be a simple swap with no rewiring involved. Is it really a plug and play swap? I am also looking for information on a few features of this bypass. The heated seats and rear defrost are supposed to come on at 32 degrees...is this temp pretty accurate? I have gotten conflicting information about the seats. I have heard that they come on at the highest setting and I have heard they come on at the lowest setting. Lastly I have also been told the XK01 will rollup your 2 front windows and sunroof on the TrailBlazers through the OBD2 data wire if you push the lock button on your alarm/remote starter twice provided you have turned the feature on in the XK01 programming. It will not do the rear windows from what I am told, as they do not operate through databus like the others do. I am looking for confirmation of any or all of this information from people here who use this module. Overall reliability of the module and general comments on it will be appreciated as well.

it is the same 10 pin harness. correct
it does heated seats when core temp is less the 32 degrees . correct
it will roll up windows with 2nd lock pulse. correct.
as for the seats on high or low im not sure i havent used one in awhile.

Yes, you have it all right.

Plug and play wiring; it's the same plug.

Window rollup works if XK01 is programmed correctly; I've tried and verified it.

Supposedly it's the ENGINE that has to be at 32F or below to activate the heated accessories. I've never tested or verified this. I just tell customers that they come on when it's really cold out, and have heard no complaints. I've never hung around to wait for the car to get cold enough to test.

Not sure about high or low.

Do take note that if you're using the GMDLBP's orange wire for panic function, you'll lose this with the XK01---it doesn't do panic.

Thanks for the replies and information. Searching the forum I came across this post HERE and the member says that all 4 windows on his 04 TrailBlazer are databus controlled. Any confirmation on this? How about the moonroof? What is the general consensus on this XK01 bypass? Is it a reliable unit with no quirks? Will it have to be reprogrammed if the battery dies or is disconnected? Thanks in advance for all replies.

Reliable: Yes. I can't remember more than maybe one or two defective units over the years.

Reprogramming after losing power? I really don't remember. Sorry.

Moonroof: Don't remember.

Rollup for two windows or all four? I also don't remember.

reliable: good stuff from waht i know. i stopped using DEI stuff, and moved onto fortins stuff.
programming: never had to reprogram a bypass when it lost power. just stuck the key in the ignition, started the car once and its ready to be used again
moonroof: no info
rollup: all 4 windows if they are open all the way.(this info i remember from reading somwhere)
