I can't seem to get this unit to stay running. It runs forabout30 seconds then shuts down and tries again. The start fail code is tried three times to start unsuccessfully. I initially used auto tach learn a while back but then the car would only remote start when it was warm. The auto tach learned 4 cylinders, so I set it to 5-6 cylinders and that apparently worked for a while. Now the thing shuts down after 30 seconds. I tried reducing the idle spped to 600 and then to 500 rpm and this had no effect.

I am connected to the PCM on the drivers side of the engine. I don't recall now which wire.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

WHITE at the BLUE plug on the PCM is the wire that you should have used. When you did the tach learn on this wire, did you get the confirmation from the flashing LED On the unit ?

Yes, the LED flashed rapidly and then when I hit the brake it flashed 4 times and a relay clicked 4 times. I didn't look very close at it when the guy stopped by but i am pretty sure I am connected to the white wire at the right connector (closest to the firewall) on the PCM that is attached to the drivers side of the motor.

I have never had trouble with Astrostart's tach settings until now. Typically, auto tach learn works fine and I have never adjusted the idle speed before.

Any other tach source to try other than an injector? Is the instrument cluster wire easily accessible?

Thanks
