Hi,i'm having trouble with a 2004 montana.i've done lots of these before and easily found the white and blue unlock/lock wires.Yet the van will only lock -no unlock.i checked the out put from the remote and the white wire pulses to ground on unlock. Is there another location or way of hooking up the lock wires.

Thanks Bruce

if you KNOW you have found the unlock wire on the car by verifying with a DMM,  connect a piece of wire to it and tap it to ground. if it unlocks then you definitly have the right wire.

unlock is LIGHT BLUE (-) in the drivers kick panel. if you cant find that wire, use the ORANGE / BLACK (-) in the dkp as well. this org/blk wire is the disarm, but it will operate door locks as well.

Your unlock wire will not work because the van has a factory alarm. You will have to connect to an ORANGE / black wire and have a 3.5 sec pulse. The white wire goes to sleep when you arm the car. You will notice it because when you lock the car the actual switch on the door doesn't unlock anymore. To test that wire you need to use the key in the cylinder and turn it counter clock wise and hold it for 3.5 seconds and you will find it.

Do you not need a 4 sec pulse to unlock?

The 3.5 sec. pulse to unlock is only on the ORANGE / BLACK wire. If you find the LIGHT BLUE wire in the DKP, then it's only a pulse to ground but this will not disarm the OEM alarm system if it has one.

We worked on one yesterday and those wires work. When the factory alarm is armed that unlock stops working so that blue wire won't do anything with a pulse. If the vehicle is on then they do work. The factory alarm also shuts off with the bypass and ignition on.

First of all, the unlock wire is white and the lock wire is light blue. Make sure that the power locks operate from both switches in the front doors. These vans are known for water leaks and the wires in the passenger's sill plate harness corode. If the wires are found and work then program your remote starter to pulse the lock wire after start and after shut down. Connect the remote starter's lock wire to the RED / black wire in the driver's door harness. Connect the remote starter's disarm wire to the ORANGE / black wire in the driver's door harness. Connect the remote starter's unlock wire to the white unlock wire in the driver's door harness. You don't need the light blue lock wire. The RED / black wire locks the doors and arms the factory alarm. When the engine is running, it will only lock the doors. You only need short timed pulses on all wires. The disarm pulse will disarm the factory alarm and unlock the driver's door. With the remote starter programmed to relock the doors, you won't have a problem. The unlock pulse comes after the disarm pulse and will unlock the remaining doors when required.
