I am trying to install a remote start alarm combo for my friend on his '00 Silverado. Alarm is an Micro StartC2003 with an DLPKGM module. The truck has the 4.8L V8 if that matters, but anyway the truck was made in Canada so I am not sure if that is throwing some of the wire colors off.

I have everything working on the truck with the exception of the door triggers, which I skipped for right now because we had to stop early. The reason we had to stop early is the only other thing not working on the truck which is where I need the help. I don't know which wire on his truck is the factory alarm disarm. I have read on here that it is in the kick panel, or the purple plug. Well I have tried both wires with no success. Plus I don't know where the (-) while runnning status on the DLPKGM goes on the alarm I am installing. I see there is an factory arm and factory disarm on that Micro.

So in all I need help mainly on finishing up the remote start, because I can get the truck to start but stops immediately. Plus if you lock the door and then disarm the alarm, the factory horn goes nuts until you start the truck.

Lastly I have installed this same remote start with module on another friends '02 Silverado, and didn't run into any of these problems, so I was wondering if the MADE IN CANADA is throwing it off. Thanks

There are some differences on the 2000 full size Chevy pickups, depending on if its the old or new body style.  Which do you have?

New style door triggers are at BCM.  Drivers door - Tan at purple plug, pin B4.  Passangers door is Orange, same plug, pin B2.

Old style door trigger use Purple wire at Headlight switch.

Old style truck - no Factory disarm wire.  New style truck is Light Green wire in DKP.

how can you tell if you have the new or old body style? I thought the bracket year was from 99-02

Thanks for the reply

Not sure how to tell the difference visually.  Maybe a trip to the local Chevy dealer.  Maybe by VIN number...

While most of the wires are the same, the door locks are type C on the old style 2 door, all others are type A.

so how would you install this remote start without the factory disarm wire? Because its not letting the aftermarket alarm take over on the factory alarm. If that makes any sense?

You need to find the wire. Does the factory alarm disarm when you turn the key in the drivers door cylinder? If so, you know the wire is in the door harness which comes up into the kick panel and up to the drivers side of the dash. Use a DVM and test for a ground when you turn the key to unlock in the drivers door, this will be the wire. It has to be in this harness. It will certainly be a smaller guage wire...
