Here is what I have:
2003 Chev Blazer
Prostart CT-3471TW remote start
Xpresskit PLJX Bypass
Fortin GM-SL bypass
Problem:
Installed remote system with the first bypass, (Xpresskit PLJX). Everytime the I press the remote start button, the engine cranks, and the vehicle goes into PASSLOCK lockout. Have to wait 10 minutes with the key in run position. Never once did it achieve start. Checked and redid all my wiring connections multiple times.
Tried the Fortin Bypass, which does door locks and trunck release as well. With this bypass, the vehicle will crank, and then passlock takes over, but does not lock out the vehicle. In a period of 8 hours, and probably 100 or more remote start tries, it started 3 separate times. Again, I checked, and rechecked my wiring everytime.
With both bypasses, I could start the vehicle, and put it in valet mode.
When I had the Fortin bypass in, one thing I could do was hit the remote start button, and once I heard the relays in the RS unit click, I turned the key to the run position. The RS unit then started the vehicle successfully, and I could turn my key back and take it our, and the vehicle ran.
I also tried another brain (RS unit)
It really seams like it is a passlock issue. I am stumped. So is a friend of mine, that has installed literally 100's of units. He is going to bring home another bypass unit, but it does seem strange with 2 different bypass units, and 2 different brains, that I cannot get it to go.
I have also tried tach hooked up, and virtual tach, with no change.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.
it looks like your missing an ignition wire somewhere. if you can start it with the key in the ignition if you turned the key to run, then yes your need to wire up the other ignition wires.
did you program the unit correctly? fortin is fool prrof but if you dont read it carefully, it wont program.

Yes, I have both igniton wires hooked up correctly. I did talk to the installer at Canadian tire, and he figures the f/w may be out of date on the bypasses. He only has the programmer gor the PLJX.
And the Fortin one, I have to wait for him to get home so I can ask him about the same thing.
And I did learn both modules correctly as per instructions.
Do this seem like a likely scenerio? I did read on the back of the Fortin unit it was Ver. 4. something
Check every wire with a digital meter and with the unit unplugged. Check that all options are programmed correctly on the remote starter. There is a specific programming option to allow the unit to work with an ADS, Expresskit or other module. Check that the correct Passlock wires are used in the ignition harness.

I have checked every wire. I had also made sure the brain was set for Xpresskit when I used the PLJX, and set to Fortin, when I tried the Fortin. I heard back from the one installer at CT, and he checked, and said the PLJX is not f/w upgradeable. I did get another Fortin unit from my other installer friend, but I cannot work on the unit for about a week, as I we have a family emergency to deal with for the rest of the week.
Hopefully it is just bad bypass units, but keep the ideas flowing.
Thanks guys!
