I have a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with factory keyless entry/alarm. I am installing a Crimestopper Coolstart RS-00 which is supposed to use the factory keyless remote for remote starting. In order to do this I need to get a negative pulse from the door locks. I have the DEI 455t Databus interface module installed as well.
The way this system is supposed to work is by 3 presses of the lock button on the factory keyless entry remote for remote starting. I have everything wired up and the system works if I touch the start activation input from the Coolstart unit to a chasis ground three consecutive times the Jeep will start.
My problem is where or how can I get a negative "pulse" from the factory door locks?

Please Help!!

Nevermind. Problem solved, it was a programming error.
This input wire has to be programmed, especially when used with OEM keyless remotes. Apparently the option for "3 negative pulses for starter activation" didn't take the first time I programmed it.
Reprogrammed, tapped this input wire into the ORANGE / purple lock wire at the switch in the driver's door to give a negative pulse every time the lock button is pressed and it works like a charm.

However if this is a remote start system you may be considering to purchase and add to your oem keyless entry I would not advise it if you have children because if the lock button on any of the doors is pressed three times consecutively, it will also trigger a remote start.
