Its a Prostart 2000' two way remote.... the system was installed app. 4 years ago by Audio Heaven and everything worked as it should but last month my daughter dropped the remote for it and it broke...so i just got the new remote bought it from canadian tire, im trying to program it it tells me to Flash the hood switch and before 20 sec is up turn the key to the on position and then the off position,  then hold the lock button  until the lights on the car flash 5 times. problem is when i "flash the hood switch" nothing happenes maybe im doing it worong

push down on the hood pin, and look at your parking lights. if they flash then the hood pin is still good, if it doesnt, remove the female plug to the hood pin.

Cut the end off and tap it to ground. if the unit clicks and the lights go on, the hood pin was faulty.
