I recently bought a Lynx 2000 (it's the newest version of an aladdin 2000). I installed it myself. Got a few general questions and a few Lynx 2000 specifics... So far the alarm and most features work great. However, I have 3 problems right now that I dunno how to fix. I have a 93 Honda Civic CX.

#1 - General Question - I hooked up the door trigger and domelight output according to page 15 of the install manual with a relay just like that (1st diagram, - output). I split the GREEN/ red (it was more of a teal/red) and ran the wires off of that to the relay and then from the relay to the brain. I am pretty sure it's the right wire as I checked the door pin on the passenger side and the dome light and they were both that same color (teal/red) as well. However, the driver side door pin is a different color. My problem is the alarm doesn't sense the driver side door at all. It detects the opening/closing of the passenger side door and pages it 100% fine. What am I doing wrong? Anyone know how to wire up the relay correctly because the damn manual shows TWO different things for the - output... posted_image

#2 - Lynx 2000 Specific Question - I can't get the AUX 1 2 3 to show up. When I hold down the A button, it just makes a short beep sound with a changing pitch). I have 2 door poppers (shaved door handles) and I need another aux output (i'm using the trunk popper for the driver side door) to get the passenger side door open. But no matter how I hook up the relay it won't work. It used to work flawlessly on my Viper 500+. The doors use a + output.

#3 - How do I bypass the clutch switch?  The install manual has ZERO information on this.

Oh.... and can addition sensors be added onto this system? It doesn't seem like the wiring allows for any... I want to add a tilt sensor. Would I just splice off the shock sensor wires or are there wires for it? Also are there any accessories for this alarm? It seems very basic. I was hoping for more features...

THANKS in advance....

1)   try not hooking up domelight supervision.......i never hook it up.....

2) ive never dealt with one of those alarms in my life...so i couldnt answer that one.......

3)the reason u cant find this in the book is becuz most companies dont urge u do do this....becuz if u leave it in gear ur f**ked...... but since im a nice guy ill tell u....

There should be two wires coming off your clutch....maybe four......use a test light or a meter....and test all the wires hooked up to the clutch.......

you wanna find a wire that reads ground when the clutch is up and when the clutch is down........and then find another wire that reads ground when the clutch is pushed all the way in...(should be right next to eachother)...take a small wire and tap on to both wires...and walla....test it with the key cuz u should be able to start the car with the key in the ignition without stepping on the clutch...

please be careful......dont leave it in gear

Ok, I checked my car for:

#1 - The domelight doesn't turn on at all when the driver door is open/closed/whatever... HOWEVER, the door pin still works.  I know this because when I leave the keys in the car and open the driver door, it makes a beeping sound, and when I close the driver door, the beeping sound goes away...  Also, the passenger side door turns on the domelight and turns it off as usual.  Why doesn't the driver side door do this?

#3 - First off, the lynx 2000 is built for manual trannies.  You have to do a certain safety precaution routine before you leave the car and pretty much can never leave your car in gear this way or else the alarm won't allow you to do remote start when you try.  I actually did some research about the clutch bypass thing and I am still a little confused.  The way I want to hook it up is so that I would still need to step on the clutch to start the car with a key as normal.  However, I only want to bypass it when I do remote start.  Here are the best instructions I have found so far, but I still dont' fully understand them...

"top of your clutch peddle... there will be two switchs. One switch signals when the clutch is started to be pushed in, the other will tell when the clutch is all the way down. Now your car won't start w/o the clutch all the way down.. so that's the switch you need. find the 12v line (it's 12V's IIRC)... it should be constant. Now put your meter on the other wire(s), and find the one that shows 12v's with the clutch pushed all the way down. That's the one you want. Either you can just jumper the switch completely, or do what i did. Connect one wire from the switch to pin 30 on a relay (bosch style). Connect the other side of the clutch switch to pin 87. Now connect pin 85 to a constant 12v wire (you can use the one on the clutch for this) and connect pin 86 to the status output on your remote start (the one that goes ground when the remote start is ativated). By doing it this way, it only bypasses the clutch when you remote start it and not when someone hops in and tries to start it."

So does that require cutting the wire that shows 12v when the clutch is pressed down and hooking each side to a pin on the relay or just tapping into it???  If those instructions up there are correct, I can just run a constant 12v wire from anywhere (this is easy to find) to pin 85 and the PURPLE wire from the 6-pin main wire from the brain which is the output for the starter motor to pin 86.  I am just confused about pins 30 and 87 and where I am suppose to tap or cut the wires (which am I suppose to do?)...

Hopefully someone can help me out on these issues??

Also if that person from Velocity Motorsports can please help me out with that AUX issue as well?

no dont cut any wires from the car at the clutch...bad idea....just tap on.....and it shouldnt show 12V its should show ground.....all dpends on the car..test everything out first

Help?  I dont' know what's going on with my door trigger...... should I just wire both of them seperately and use diodes?  How do I go about doing that if I want to do it that way?

There are TWO GREEN/ RED wires to choose from. YOu have to grab the correct one and test both doors with this one wire to ensure that you have the correct one. Did you cut the wire from the door pin wire to the dome light and wire up a relay ( 1 st diagram ) like it says on page 15 ? First you have to have the correct wire and second you have to cut the wire in half and wire in the relay.

Both the AUX channels are (-) outputs and you will need this diagram: https://www.velocitymotorsport.com/images/install_notes/N2P.jpg to reverse the polarity of the wire. To program the pulse or the latched function you have to go to page 30 and folow the programming instructions. Holding down the A button for about 2 seconds should engage the function to choose between 1, 2 or 3 AUX channels.

I do see 2 GREEN/ red wires in the driver kick panel.  One is a darker GREEN/ red but that is hooked up to the e-brake.  The one that I hook'd the alarm to was like a light GREEN/ red actually and it is hook'd up to the passenger and domelight.  The DRIVER door trigger wire is a GREEN/ blue color.  I'm thinking something maybe wrong with my car because even if the alarm isn't hooked up, if I open the driver door, the domelight doesnt' turn on.  Only the passenger side does..  Any suggestions?  SHould I just wire both door trigger wires to the alarm using diodes?  I think that will work right?  How do I do that?

Also, I did all the aux set up and hooked it up just like that diagram, but the remote doesnt' even show 1/2/3 when I hold down the AUX button.  It sort of makes an error sound (sounds like when you try to remote start the car w/o doing the safe mode procedure).  I called tech support and they said to bring it to a local dealer.  I brought it there and they didn't even give me the time of day because I didnt' buy it from them nor did they install it.  I'm sort of stuck on this problem.

Another thing, how can I bypass the clutch ONLY when I remote start?  For now, I just hooked connected teh 2 wires at the clutch switch together which bypasses the clutch always.  I can start the car w/o stepping on the clutch and the remote start works just fine.  However, I still want the clutch switch to work when I'm starting it normally.  Meaning, I want it so I have to step on the clutch when I start it with a key.  Then I want it to be bypassed ONLY when I remote start.  How can I go about wiring a relay to do this?  Remember, I have the Lynx 2000...
