I installed a remote starter in a 1997 quest last week. The guys van isn't in the best of shape so im hoping the issue isn't mine (his dash is lit up like a christmas tree)

Randomly when remote starting the alarm will go off. But not every time.

Im not using the Door lock wires, im just using the arm/disarm wires to do the locking and unlocking because they arm/lock, and disarm/unlock.

I have the starter set up so when a remote start command is sent. The doors are unlocked through the disarm wire, then it remote starts, then re-locks through the arm wire.

Im wondering if I should do key sense, if anyone knows his the key sense is part of the alarm circuit as well?

Or I was also thinking to continue to use the disarm output from the starter to still trigger the disarm wire in the van, but instead of the arm wire going to arm, I was going to put it to lock on the van so it does not arm the alarm. BUT Put the lock output on the starter to the arm wire so when the person hits lock, it arms the alarm.

Any suggestions?

He does have a broken wire somewhere on his door pin circuit causing the alarm to see a open door condition 24/7, but I can't see how that would have anything to do with my problem since the door pin issue isn't intermittent.
