I just install a Viper 5901 on my 2002 Tacoma the first thing i did was getting the 2002 Wire Diagram. First a notice the parking lights were not flashing when arm & disarm. I solder the H1/11 White wire to the violet/red from the steering column headlight switch, not we out testing the wire with a test light to be sure the parking light will activate. I hook the dome light supervision to a GREEN / WHITE wire from the back of the fuse box i also test this wire with the test light. If i did some thing wrong i will love to know. Now the second main problem is the Remote Start (What a Surprise !!!) After doing the start up diagnostics the status LED flashes 7 times, I'm trying to program the module to be sure that is in automatic with no luck what i think is the problem. The truck is automatic and the diagnostics shows possible /Manual mode error. Everything else work including the hood pin, starter kill, locks, horn etc. Thanks for your help.

I posted a reply about the parking lights in the other tacoma thread! Have you plugged in the toggle switch that comes with the system?

Do you have the lights on positive or negative? If you are in the column they are negative. You can get positive at the fuse box, bottom white plug, a green wire.

I found the green wire i tested with a volt meter and test light i hook the white wire from the alarm and for my sadness still not working. I'm spending more time trying to make the parking lights to flash than installing the alarm. "What a Day"

The parking lights still not working on the positive side i inspect
the grounds and wire hardness but the thing is that the lights and the remote start still the problem, unless the remote start side is affecting the lights? i don't know what to think anymore.

No i did not " Wow " i don't remember reading that on the owner's guide
or the install guide. I'm tempted to go out in the cold and pop that
sucker. Is not easy here in Wisconsin.

That's your problem right there! Ensure you fuse the jumper according to the polarity of the parking light circuit!

Yeap !! that did it, my parking lights are flashing now.
Now ! I just notice the alarm do not trigger when i open the door
and for the remote start diagnostic LED flashing 7 times it looks like
the learn routine has previously been locked,it must be unlocked with
Bitwriter. I can be wrong.

Do wou have your door trigger wire connected? If when trying to enter programming you get a long chirp when you press the valet switch the brain is locked, and must be unlocked by the bitwriter! Did you purchase it new? Normally they are unlocked from factory!

seven flashes indicates you haven't programmed to automatic mode!

For the doors lock i used the 3 pin connector with the blue and green wire. My doors lock when armed and unlock when disarmed.
When i try the programming following the directions:
Open a door
turn ignition on and off
press and hold the control button etc.....
Nothing happens it just activate the Valet feature. No chirp, no nothing
I do not purchase the Bitwriter yet waiting if i can resolve this problem first. If i missing something with the door triggers I'm all
ears or in this case all eyes.

The green negative door trigger wire needs to be connected or "seeing" ground when trying to access programming features! If you haven't located your door trigger wire, ground the green wire whilst programming!
