hey guys. i am having problems with the remote start feature. i can get it set and then after i drive the car it doesnt stay set. when i was messing with it i messed with the pit stop mode and ever since it stopped working. im not too sure. also the 1-way remote isnt programmed to the alarm. i dont have the fuse plugged into the brain for th parking lots to work cause i didnt know it needed to be plugged in cause i thought it already was. my fault on that. could this be my problem or is it something else? i am confused and it is bothering me that i cant get it to work correctly. i did the install myself. the alarm does arm and disarm and locks and unlocks with no problem at all.

define what you mean by "get it set".... what exactly is working or not working??   also, a bit more info about the car would be helpful... year, auto/manual, etc, etc....

my fault thought i did include that information. its a 97 civic cx, 5 speed. the alarm will arm/disarm and lock and unlock the doors, hood pin works all that. the parking lights do not come on due too the fact i didnt install the 10amp fuse in the brain. i thought it was already installed and didnt noticed the lights werent coming on after the install and couldnt figure out why. but now with the remote start i can have the system learn the tach and set the system to manual transmission start (MTS). the car will remote start but if i turn the neutral safety switch to off so that it doesnt remote start and try to start it doesnt, like its supposed too. but then when i turn it back on i have to go and reset the system to MTS mode. i have the clutch bypass with a jumper wire at the sensor on the clutch. i have the neutral saefty input wire(BLACK/ white) connected to the e-brake. i am also having a problem with pairing the 1-way remote to the system. the system will chirp and remote beeps like its supposed to when its a successful but then the remote wont work when the programming is exited.

Have you gone threw the Remote starting Diagnostics section on page(57)? The Viper 5901 should come set for Manual Transmission as the default setting? Make sure your using the right (BLACK/ white) wire, neutral safety wire its on the 5 pin connector. And make sure all your door pins are connected properly for proper programming.

why wont the brain remember to keep the remote start setting. as soon as i get in the car and put the key in the ignition and step on the break to perform the key take over it, the manual transmission start mode goes away and i have to reprogram it.

Isn't that how it works! Everytime you are exiting the vehicle and would like the remote start to be active the next time around, you have to initialize it before you exit!

Also i think you meant  BUMP! lol!

lol yea i did! haha but i dont want it to be like that. i want to be able to hit the button no matter what. my friend can do it with his car. i spoke to the guy who installed it in his car and he said he programmed his with bit writter so i guess thats how he can do it. i just find it rather annoying having to it that way. but i guess its the safety issue for 5 speeds. is there a way around it with out using the bit writter?
