check the hood pin and make sure it not broken if its broke or not adjusted right, if making contact it will give a signal that the hood is open and will cancel the start to see unplug the wire and try it

the switch has to be on to remote start

also make sure the wires on the back of the switch are not broke

think i found the installation manual for this starter if you tell me how many flashes the led one the brain under the dash i might be able to tell you the problem better

that is after a failed start and before the brake is pushed

if the brake is pushed it will clear the codes

yes after you push the start button and it fails to start count the flashes of the led on the unit under the dash

You are hoping for 5 flashes (hood pin problem)

The hood pin on these units is magnetic (total crap) You can replace it, but the unit requires some programming changes.

There is NO clearing of codes.... if there is a no start situation, the problem must be fixed before it will start!

the vechiles not running when you tried it.

if the vehicle is running you will see it flash fast and that will lets you know that there is a tach signal

the flash rate for most astrostarts i have seen is about 2-3 per second for fault codes

with about a 2-3 second gap before it repeats

ok when you push the button it will flash fast indicating that it recevied the remote.

after you push that button and it lights up the park lights and does not start

you want to count them after that. not while pushing the button on the remote

yep its your hood pin for the remote starter giving you problems.

it will have to be adjusted or replaced to make the remote start work.

it is a safety device so i would not just take it out but you can give it a try by disconnecting the BLACK/ red wire from the hood pin and tring it then to confirm that is the problem.

if broken they are cheap to replace most places have them for under 2 dollars.
