I have a problem figure out how to connect lock and unlock for 05 ford escape...reason is that lock and unlock from the car is only one wire...i need to hook up 1K resistor with lock..but have to use relay...i don't know how to make the relay...helps please..

Relay

Pin 87- ground

pin 86- twelve volts fused at five amps

pin 85- negative trigger lock wire!

pin 30- to lock wire in car through 1k resistor!

what kind of remote start? if it only throws ground you may not need relays.

those lock circuits can sometimes draw upwards to 2 amps and burn the output of the unit. when using a resistor setup for lock/unlock (typical on mazda) is it always best to isolate this circuit to prevent backfeed onto the rs or alarm. less chances of frying the module overall

hey t&t, i fuse my relays at 2 amps. anyways how do you wire up the fuses? do you use an inline standard fuse holder?

i ask because fuse holders are expensive where i live, and was lookin for an alternative such as female spade terminals that fit over the metal of the fuse.

Yes ted inline holders! That female relay clip which fits over the terminal works yes, but i don't like it, sometimes they tend to open out and cause problems! The inline holder is always reliable!

for sure the inline is reliable, but 6 bucks a piece isnt so good. thats more than the cost of a relay and harness together ahah.

I always use the arm and disarm wires on the Escape. These wires will lock and unlock the vehicle with no resistors or relays. You will need to set your system to double pulse, and on the second pulse it will unlock All doors.
