I decided to install a Viper 5901 on my '04 GMC Yukon.  I checked directed's site and got an XK09 Xpresskit but am unsure how to install them into my vehicle.

I used to own a  car audio store several years ago (closed it in 1997) and was a Viper authorized dealer.   The latest and greatest at the time was the Viper Ultra 900 and bypass modules were not required. I just installed a 5901 on an Isuzu Rodeo and it was a piece of cake, no modules needed though.

Can anyone help me with what wiring I need to wire directly to the 5901 and what goes to the xk09?

I do have the Directwire wiring information.

ok my first question is what firmware are you planning on using?

i hope it's the dlpkgm 1.01 anyways thats what it should come with

with this one if you use the d2d cable to attach it to the remote starter you will only have one wire to hook to the vehicles data port

and it will do all this for you

Arm Factory Security
Disarm Factory Security
Door Lock Control
Door Unlock
Driver Priority Unlock
Trunk / Hatch Release
Immobilizer Bypass-Data No Key Req'd
RAP Shut Down (Remote ACC Power)
Tach / RPM Output
Entry Monitoring ALL Door Pins
Entry Monitoring Driver Door Pin
Entry Monitoring Hood Pin
Entry Monitoring Trunk/Hatch Pin

after that hook up the ignition 1 and 2, and accessory 1 and 2, tach, brake, hood pin, for the remote starter.

as for the alarm you should not have to hook up the door triggers, and the doolocks.

still have to do the siren and the sensors.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I'm not sure what version of firmware is on the xk09, but I have ordered an XKLOADER2 to perform any updates if needed.

On the back of the module it says Lot 161,  H.1 S.1, 9J and DLPKGM.  I'm guessing this is Hardware version 1.0 and Software version 1.0.

Seems to be a really easy install.  Sure wish they had these when I was installing Ultra 900's!

XK01 would be cheaper and come pre-loaded with the correct firmware...

I was thinking about that as well.  I have a few accessories left over from my store. I just need to get up in the attic and find the boxes they are in. I'm pretty sure I have a few 530t's in there.

xk01 does it through the data wire and with one relay

ok all you need to do is

hook the pink/white wire from the bypass to the 85 on relay

then but a fused positive to the 86 and 30 of the relay

then the 87 to brown accessory wire

then program the bypass to type 4 your vehicle type

then program it

then in the options turn on window roll-up

now on your second lock command it will roll the windows up

starting with the drivers rear, then the passengers rear, then the passenger front, and finally the drivers front

here are the instructions

Thanks for the info.  I guess my thinking was wrong when I bought the xk09.  I thought it would be the latest and greatest WITH all the latest and greatest features..

Is there anything else that the xk09 will not do that other modules will do for my truck?

with the xk09 you can get the tach off the bypass but it not that hard to get it from behind the instrument panel white wire
