Anyone done one of these that can let me know if there are any details worth knowing before installing a remote starter? A buddy of my brother wants one but he live out of town so i don't want to have any issues that need to fixed later. All the wiring info I can find makes it look very straight forward. If the wiring of the remote starter is as easy as it looks, I guess my only question would be the transponder bypass. Is the dash easy enough to take apart? How sensitive is the system? (I mean how many times do I need to wrap the key and the cylinder?) Is there room to wrap the cylinder. I really don't want to even start this vehicle to find out it is a PITA since I am not going to be in the same state if there is a problem. Thanks to anyone who has any information on this.

I have no help or info for you, I just wanted to comment on the fact that I have never seen the words, Saab and easy in the same sentence.  So now I can say I have seen both in a question.

never done one, but pulled up some info. it looks like all the wires you need are under the driver seat at the TWICE module (Theft Warning somethingsomething Electronics), and at the main ignition harness itself.

Im sure a 556u will work if wired up for euro specs.

Saab is now a General Motors product.

It's a Vauxhall/Opel Vectra and I for one wouldn't go near one without a full, i.e. locks, windows, triggers and by-pass CAN unit.
I did a Vectra with a 555U, got the back doors to lock/unlock, with no door triggers! A disaster!

Howie, it sounds like you had a problem with the door triggers and I am just putting in a remote starter, was the remote start part easy, or was the whole thing a disaster? How was it installing the 555U?

Thanks
