I have an 04 saturn ion that fails to start sometimes. I was wondering if I can read the resistance between the white and WHITE/ black wire while turning the key and then put a resistor from the bcm side of teh white to the ground (white with a blk stripe) and bypass the passlock and not have the passlock light on the dash. I am not putting a remote starter on the car.

i replaced the ing switch with a new one   not bad took about 45 mins to remove and install and reset the passlock system   i think the switch was like 40 bucks

P.S you dont need a scan tool to reset the passlock

If your doing that then your better off getting a bypass module and bypassing it that way. Its easyer and safer. Just ground the statuse to ground

the bypass would cost just as much as the ignition switch
