I have a RS on a 2003 Duramax, When the trucks engine temp is above 70 the rs starts the truck just fine but when the engine temp is below that the rs will start the truck and it runs for about 1 min and then shuts down. I have tried to reset the vitural tach but i still have the same issue. Anyone have any other ideas?

try running a tach wire should solve your problem

NOTE *3 The PCM (Powertrain Control Module) is located in the LEFT FRONT of the engine compartment to the left of the fan shroud.

NOTE *7 On DIESEL ENGINES the TACH is in the GRAY plug, Pin 37

Ill bring it back to the dealer he said that he has a tach wire hooked up but im not sure. Would that cause it not to start with a cold engine?

yes it could    you said you reset virtual tach   that doesnt use the tach input wire   that uses voltage to monitor if the truck is running or not

i dont have the manual for this alarm. But there should be a TACH setting thats what you should be using.   You will need to set the system to tach mode and then learn the tach signal to the system

Just curious, is the 5301 hooked up to the glow plug (wait to start) in the truck ?

Good point. I don't think there is a indicator for this vehicle, so I think you need to set your wait to start longer. But have the option of accessory on during WTS on. Otherwise your glow plugs won't warm up.

OK well the dealer comment was obviously a joke. But since it's a 5301 here's how you know if he hooked up tach or not, start the vehicle by key, and right away once it starts hold the programming button on the antenna, if it lights up blue he hooked up tach, if it does not then he is lying to you. Very simple.
