Hi Guys,

Im trying to install a Viper 5901 LC3 and I just want to make sure I have the right wires before I begin.

        Viper 5901           Celica 91 GT4
(+) Ignition 1 Input(for alarm)/Output(starter)   = BLACK/ Orange(ign)
(87) Flex Relay Input (30amp fused) (IGN2?)     = White (at ignition)
(-) Accessory Output          = Gray (at ignition)
(+) Starter Output (car side)          = BLACK/ White(ign)
(+) Starter Input (key side)          = BLACK/ White(ign)
Ignition 1 input (30A fused)        = BLACK/ Red(ign)
(30) Flex relay output        (IGN2?)             = Blue/Red(ign)
Accessory/Starter Relay Input(30amp fused)        = White(ign)

Any help appreciated, thanks,

Quite correct BUT make sure those 12V+ constants, white and BLACK/ red can handle the power requirements, 60amps at the white and 30amps at the black red. Either on your main battery connection or engine bay fuse box there might be fused links, for instance the Honda version is rated at 50amps.
If in any doubt run power and ground leads directly to the battery, you will get cleaner power that way.
Is this a Japanese import with amber direction indicators? If so split your white lights lead into 2 using 1N5404 diodes to the GREEN/ black and GREEN/ YELLOW leads in the black plug under the steering column (Test these as the indicator feeds).

Hi Howie, Thanks very much for the reply, yes it is a Japanese import(see photo below). Thanks for the info.

I am having problems getting the parking lights (dark green supposedly in the kick panel of the car) (white on the viper 5901) to work. I have everything else hooked up and working. The alarm works but the starter wont start, on the LC3 remote it says "remote start error"( I am guessing because I havent programmed the tach yet). I havent followed all the steps yet, Its very cold and Im wiring this in my non-heated garage. I just really needed the alarm to work as I park it outside and I've put a nice stereo in it.

I'll try what you suggest with the 1N5404 diodes to the GREEN/ black and GREEN/ YELLOW as I did hook the white to the green black at a harness near the ignition harness under the steering wheel(which showed voltage when I turned on the parking lights) but it didnt seem to make the parking lights flash when I tried to arm it.

Actually I envy you! At least you're under cover and I had to work outside on a Skyline yesterday. It said 38f but I could feel the wind chill coming straight from Norway! You might also pick up the lights as a neg. at that black plug I mentioned. I know the high beams are a neg. there RED / yellow if I remember. The indicators will be pos. Funnily enough I've got a fancy for a twin turbo Supra!
Remember to set the Viper up for the relevant pos. or neg. lights output.

Thanks for the help Howie, I may attempt to brave the cold and go get the diodes later today, its even colder today so I think I may put installing them till next weekend or during the week if it warms up a bit :)

Its 12F right now by what the 5901 remote says.

I also like the turbo Supra, sexy cars, lots of power to boot.

I noticed the panel on the top of the viper that has a fuse in it. I have a Canadian GTS (ST184) that was easier to get the parking lights, I may try to refer to it, the wires are somewhat different though.

Howie,

How do I make the 5901 talk? is it some kind of add-on module? I seen some yuobute vids where there alarm talks, I think that would be neat posted_image
