I just installed a Viper 5701 and am having issues getting the rear defrost to trigger on my Aux1 output. I tried changing the output from latched to timed and it still won't turn on. The wire I hooked into shows 12 volts and goes to 0 when turned on. Any ideas would be great.

it should be a negative polarity wire, yellow/black behind the switch
should be a pulse not a latch
not sure if it will light up the indicator or not.

If I use the aux 1 channel is Validity or Timed the sames as pulse? Or should I just use the defogger output? The reason I don't really want to use this one as I don't want it to activate at 55 degrees everytime I remote start.

validity should work just push the button and then it will shut off only active as long as you push the button

Thank you for the help! It turns out that I had to switch it to latched and as you mentioned, the light does not come on letting you know that it is on.
