Hey guys I'm a newbie here but I've been doing alot of research and want to install a Viper 5901 in my 95 Camaro. I was reading the 5901 manual and it says that the shock sensor is installed in the main unit, so I was wondering where and how you guys were mounting your main units. I was going to mount it in the center console area but for some reason the manual says not to install it using screws on metal? Can someone elaborate on this? How else should I mount the unit if I can't screw it on?

Velcro or similar, the "eyes" or fixing lugs will break if you use anything but zip ties. Velcro will give it some "bounce" to aid sensitivity.

Great thanks. I'll pick up some velcro then and hook the box up to the trans tunnel in the center console.
