I installed an alarm on a 2007 Saturn Ion today and randomly the trunk release switch and door locks dont work. Ive done about 50 of these cars and never had that problem. I checked all the fuses, all good. I had diode on lock cathode facing the alarm, and 1k ohm on unlock, also hooked up a trunk pop. WHY DONT THEY WORK!!!!

Did you use relays. Also do the door locks work with the car master switch. Ive done a few of those with and with out bypass. Most bypass control the door locks and trunk release. But when it comes to just alarm i would use relays to be safe and resistors.

Power lock   White (-)

Power unlock same as power lock wire (-) 1.5k ohms

BCM Black 56 pin plug, pin 33

Trunk release  BLACK/ white (+)  switch or BCM black 56 pin plug, pin 1

I used relay only for trunk pop. No the locks dont work at the switch, and either does the trunk release. Im thinking there is a factory ground that has come loose or has a bad connection. and the unlock is at 1k not 1.5k. and you dont need relays for the locks. and i did grab the white wire and the BLACK/ white at the BCM.

I used a 1.5k resistor and relays for mine and they work. Maybe try it see usually the alarm ground is only sufficient enough to trip a relay.
