hi everybody,

i just purchased a giordon G686W 1 way car alarm system, after installation everything is working fine, except for the chirp sound when arming/disarming the alarm. The chirp sound in my case is a very loud weird "biiip" sound with the same volume as the emergency siren when the system is triggered. Normally in all alarms the chird sound should be lower than the emergency siren.

my dad has a giordon G2116 and his chirp sound is normal.

Is this loud chirp sound comes from a wrong wiring connection? how can i get a normal chirp sound? (i already tried another alarm siren : sound is the same)

thanks in advance

forgot to mention that my car is a honda city 1.5 vtec 16v year 2000 (same engine as the european civic ek3), i don't think you have this car in the usa, it's a model made for the asian market,

Congratulations to your father, that's the first Giordon alarm that I've encountered that worked.
I install them under extreme duress, and usually when that chirp starts then fails to stop is when I rip them out and install a reputable brand.

So Giordon is a crap brand? I had one of these made in China alarm on my car before the giordon, the alarm had a problem after one year, the alarm box wasn't receiving any signal from the remote anymore (not a battery problem).

As my dad didn't had any problem with his giordon alarm (this alarm was installed about three years ago on his Suzuki Jimny)I took for granted that this brand was ok, this is why I purchased this one!

So there isn't any solution to have a decent chirp sound? I have already try to change the siren twice but sound remains the same.

Can it come from a problem of voltage? The electrician who installed the alarm have use the wiring from the previous alarm to connect the giordon, so the giordon wiring is still in the box and from the manual wiring diagram, the siren signal comes out from alarm box with a single pink wire.

When I changed my siren I noticed that there were two wires (brown and blue connected together) coming from the box. Can it be that that cause a failure in the alarm signal?

Hi there,

No solutions for me?
I think I'll get the alarm off my car and as all the wiring is still in the box, I'll try to sell it...

Unfortunatly we don't have Viper alarms in my country, most alarms are cheap made in China ones, the genuine brand we can find are Wheels or Silicon.
