I am looking to do a remote start and alarm system on my 2007 Nissan Titan SE. It has factory keyless entry.

My question is regarding using the Viper 5501 with the CANMAX400DEI.
After reading as much info as I can find it seems I can use the Titan's bus system to bypass the immobilizer and door lock/ unlock and door trigger monitoring as well as the tach sense. So that leads me to believe the wiring and tapping into the vehicles harnesses is way less reduced. I would hope that would make for a more reliablable install and cleaner as well. So that would leave the power connections, siren, starter, brake and a few others ? Am I correct in my statements so far or am I way off base?

Any installers do a 2007 Titan before and are the connections fairly easy to access if wiring the system hard wired?
I believe I read the door lock/unlock is accessed at the door.

Any experience with the CANMAX400DEI ? I know I have to get it flashed for the titan before using. Any other concerns or considerations?

Does the 5501 need to be programmed with a programmer or can everything I need to do be done via the switch and door open modes?

I know Im asking a butt load of question but Id prefer asking and hope to get some sound advice before embarking on this install.

Thanks for any replies and advice

yes you are correct, the can module will take care of most wires. you will only need to wire up ign, acc, start x2, brake, and a few other wires.

if you hardwire without a module, it requires abit more work, but not too bad.

never used the canmax, not a huge dei user, mostly compustar, ifatalink(blade) and fortin user.

some settings need a bitwriter, but for basic changes, you should be fine using the motes and valet button.
