Trying to install a Bulldog RS82B into a 2007 Dodge Ram, Trying to use the PKUMUX from xpresskit, but their diagram is vague, I am not sure how the two components interface. The xpresskit diagram is vague. Someone please help, seems nobody's techsupport works on Saturday. Thanks.

Seems a more directed question might be, what color is the multiplex wire, pink/white, PURPLE / brown, or maybe WHITE/ orange. This seems to be the most confusing part of the xpresskit diagram and the dodge wiring list.

PURPLE / Brown if you're working on a RAM 1500 P/U. No primary Start wire so the PKUMUX Violet goes directly to the R/S Starter output. The Pink/White on the trucks ignition is your IGN1 wire. Follow Install Type B.

So, hook up the data input/output lines to the trucks PURPLE / brown, ignition to the trucks pink/white, and the pkumux violet starter straight to the r/s starter input? Seems straightforward enough. Do I have to use the key cyclinder loop on the pkumux, or can I use the key cyclinder loop that comes with the RS82B?? Thanks for the help so far.

Alright, I have power, noise, lights, but no crank. I trust the transponder stuff is good, since the dash lights are lighting up. The heater blower blows, but the engine never attempts to crank. I know I am not getting 12V to the starter wire under the hood. I think I just have something crossed up. Any chance you could just call me, 757-274-1462 Thanks Chuck

Make sure that if the truck has a starter wire at the ignition switch, you attach the start wire from the remote starter to it as well.

Make sure you are connect to the MUX wire in the truck at the ignition cylinder, and not down the column. I had that problem on my 06 Ram and when I connected to the wire right before the ignition cylinder, it fired up the first time. Hope that helps!!

I am hooked into the mux wire just down from the key cyclinder. But I am still not getting voltage to the starter wire in the vehicle. Although previously mentioned, the starter wire in the vehicle is not suppose to be tapped into by the remote starter, I think starting is suppose to be intitiated by the mux? kreg357 has turned me on to the possibility of an additional ignition wire, perhaps that will help.

cdbrandt, just to clarify what I said about the starter wire. IF there is no starter wire at the ignition switch ( which you have not mentioned if there is one or not ), then you attach the starter wire from the remote starter to the VIOLET wire of the PKUMUX module. If there is a starter wire at the ignition switch, then you connect the starter wire of the remote starter to the starter wire at the ignition switch which is usally YELLOW. The VIOLET wire from the PKUMUX will not be used at this point........... according to the instructions. There are no other ignition wires in this truck other than the PINK/WHITE at the ingition switch or at the SKIM module. Also, did you wrap the induction ring around the inside of the OEM ring or on the outside ? Also, did the chip program properly ? Try unplugging the induction ring from the module and placing the key into the ignition switch and try remote starting it. If this works, then your problem was the chip and not with the MUX or starter. If it still fails to start, then start looking back at the starter wire. ------------- Jeff

It shows two starter wires for this dodge, one yellow under the hood, the other as PURPLE / brown which I have learned is the mux line, so I just have the starter wire from the R/s going to the violet. I have tried starting the truck with the R/s with the key in the ignition and the loop antenna unplugged, the same exact thing happens, dash lights, blower, NO security light, but no truck start. When I tried to Key start with just a key, no guts in the key fob, I got a flashing security light on the dash, so, with no security light illuminated during R/s operation, I am assuming I have the PKUMUX programmed properly?

Well, for anyone checking in, or following this post, or for anyone who made suggestions, this project is finally a wrap. The two data lines, input and output were swapped. Either by me, or as suggested by xpresskit, perhaps their diagram was labeled wrong. Nevertheless, all is good thanks again.
