So I finished my install and began testing and I quickly found that the backup battery which comes with the DEI 520T kit is dead after charging overnight. Voltage drops almost immediately down to 6v when disconnected and continues to drop until after an hour there's barely 1v reading on my multimeter (and no siren at any time). So I need a new battery.
An auto parts store had a rechargeable 12v battery about 3x the size of the original backup battery, can't seem to find anything smaller. Not too sure of the current output of the 520T module and how that effects what kind of battery replacement I need. Any suggestions?

Any 12 volt replacement will be fine! I would recommend going with one that has about a six amp per hour or so discharge!

Thanks, bought one with a 4.5amp per hour discharge, hopefully that will be enough. It's a big sucker (comparatively) so I think it will do the trick.

Yup it will be better that the original battery that the 520t came with!

FYI - 12V 7AH is often the cheapest "bang for buck$" for a small battery since it is so common. The 4AH are often the same price - but space is another issue.
