having problems arming/remote starting my 88 ford thunder bird. i have a viper 5501 and havent had problems with past viper installs. car panics with light flash only and doesnt honk/chirp the siren. try to remote start and the fob only says "remote start error". any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks.

5501 is not an alarm model... R/S only...????   what siren are you referring to??

did you program it for automatic tranny? (as default is manual tranny and will not work)   if it flashes 7 times when you try to R/S the vehicle it will be 1) programmed for manual trans  2) valet override switch not connected or turned off or 3)  NSS wire not grounded....
